The Ranch Experience Not very long ago almost all kids grew up in great oudoors - running around barefoot, jumping off haystacks, fishing in the stream, and just being kids. But times have changes and many kids now days are lucky if they have a yard at all, let alone wide open spaces to explore. Horizon Ranch, a real working ranch in Southern Nevada, has created a place to offer these opportunities to those who otherwise wouldn't have them. At Horizon Ranch we offer many outdoor activities and options. Your group can learn about the farming experience and interact with the ranch animals. Working in an outdoor environment with peers and leaders can give kids a chance to learn teamwork and leadership skills.Activity Options There are a variety of activity options available at Horizon Ranch. Obstacle course, paintball, fishing, horseshoe pits, swimming in warm springs, and outdoor games are a few your groups can choose to do while staying at Horizon Ranch. We also encourage participation in devotionals, flag raising and lowerings, and firesides.
Service at the LDS Church Welfare Ranch Horizon Ranch is located just outside the borders of the LDS Church Welfare Ranch in Southern Nevada. The cattle raised on this ranch are used to supply meat to the bishops' storehouses and help feed the less fortunate. At Horizon Ranch we can arrange volunteer work projects at the LDS Ranch. This is a great way to teach the youth the value of service. |
